Ohio Scottish Games & Celtic Festival

The Ohio Scottish Games & Celtic Festival returns to the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds June 27-28, 2025.

On Friday, the Ceilidh Gates will open at 4:45 PM. The entertainment pavilion will be rock'in until 10:30 PM. Evening will include the Knights of Valour Jousting Troupe, Border Collie Demonstration, Birds of Prey demonstration & exhibit, entertainment, pipe band performances, professional piping & drumming events, genealogy, axe throwing, archery, whisky tasting, VIP, workshops and clans. The evening will also include our "Calling of the Clans" event. 

On Saturday, the Highland Games Gates will open at 8 AM. Competition is heavily featured in the early morning. Most of the day's events will kickoff starting at 10:30. Saturday's events include the Grand Parade, Knights of Valour Jousting Troupe, Border Collie Demonstration, Birds of Prey demonstration & exhibit, bagpipe competitions, Scottish heavy athletics, haggis throwing, archery, highland dance competitions, harp & fiddle competitions, live entertainment, whiskey tasting, VIP, kilted mile, food and merchandise vendors and Twilight Tattoo.

“How Did You Get Here?” The StoryTown Radio Show will be sharing tales about immigration and interstate travel on June 23rd at the McKinney Center. Featured in this live production will be a harrowing story of one man’s escape from Ukraine during WWII and his journey to get to the United States, we’ll also have the story of the Migrant March that took place in town in 2004, the history of the Immigrant Trail DAR marker, as well as stories from newcomers who just moved to the area. Joining the cast will be storyteller Pippa White. Catch her before she starts her weeklong residency at the International Storytelling Center.

The music guest for this production is the local Celtic band Jenny & the Weazles. “The band enjoys bringing Scottish and Irish fiddle tunes and songs to” venues and events throughout the region. “How Did You Get Here? Tales of Immigrant & Interstate Travel” takes place at 7PM on June 23rd at the McKinney Center. Tickets are $10 and are available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010. The shows have been selling out, so make sure you get your tickets today. Half season passes are still available at https://townofjonesborough.thundertix.com/.../6099/summary for only $45.00. This guarantees you a seat for the remaining five shows of the season.

The Radio Show is also recorded for broadcast on local NPR station WETS 89.5 out of Johnson City, which can be heard the last Wednesday of the month at 8PM.
